The Longevity Myth
Body mists typically last two to four hours on bare skin. That is not a flaw in the formula — it is by design. The lighter alcohol and water base makes them gentler and more wearable throughout the day. The secret is not finding a mist that never fades; it is learning how to keep it alive.
Moisturise First, Always
Dry skin is fragrance's worst enemy. The oils in skin act as a binding agent, and without them, scent molecules have nothing to anchor to — they simply evaporate. Apply an unscented body lotion or a light body oil three to five minutes before your mist. Let it absorb, then spray.
If you want to go further, use a matching scented lotion from the same range. The doubled formula creates a foundation that can extend wear by several hours.
Target Your Pulse Points Strategically
Pulse points generate body heat, which activates and diffuses fragrance continuously. The most effective locations:
- Inner wrists — the classic choice, but do not rub them together. Rubbing crushes the top notes and flattens the scent.
- Base of the throat — creates a close, personal trail.
- Inner elbows — radiates as you move your arms.
- Behind the knees — releases scent upward as you walk.
- Collarbones — perfect for open necklines.
Spray Distance Matters
Hold the bottle 15 to 20 centimetres from your skin. Too close, and the alcohol concentration can feel sharp and fade quickly. Too far, and most of the mist disperses into the air before reaching you. The sweet spot creates an even, fine mist that settles gently.
